Email alerts
Every alert is triggered by a reviewed data change: an automated watcher drafts the change, a human approves and merges it, and the merge sends the email. Nothing sends automatically from a scrape. No newsletter, no commentary — an alert states what changed and links the source.
What you can subscribe to
- List changes
- The state revises its specified-semiautomatic-firearms list. You get one email per new list version: what was added, removed, or changed, with a link to the full changelog. Subscribe below or anywhere you see the signup on the site.
- A specific firearm model
-
Offered after a lookup result or on a firearm's page. You get an
email only if that entry's status changes in a list revision. Stored
as a short tag like
model:rifle-anderson-manufacturing-am-15-seriesattached to your email address — nothing else. - A specific county
-
Offered on each county's page. You get an email when that county's
eligibility-card status, application channel, or fee changes in our
tracker. Stored as
county:<fips code>. - Litigation milestones
- Offered on case pages. Fires only on court orders and opinions in the tracked cases — not on routine filings and motions.
- Key dates
- Offered on the key-dates page. Fires when a tracked date changes or a new one is added — for example, a state deadline moving.
Privacy, in one paragraph
Email address only — there is no name field anywhere. Double opt-in: you confirm by email before anything is sent. Your address lives only in our email provider (Buttondown), never in this site's code or data. No sale, no sharing with any organization. The full version is on the privacy page.
Manage or unsubscribe
Every alert email footer has a one-click unsubscribe link and a link to manage which alerts you receive. Unsubscribing removes every tag tied to your address at once, not just the alert you clicked from. To have your record deleted entirely, reply to any alert email or use the contact address on the about page.
