Embed the county table

Gun shops, ranges, instructors, and clubs keep getting asked "is my sheriff issuing cards yet?" You can put the answer on your own page instead of retyping it. The snippet below drops the64-county status table into any site that lets you paste HTML: Squarespace and Wix code blocks, WordPress custom HTML, Webflow embeds, or a plain page.

The snippet

Paste this where you want the table to appear:

<div data-cfw-counties></div>
<script src="https://coloradofirearmswatch.org/embed/counties.js" async></script>

That is the whole integration. The table is plain HTML with a small built-in stylesheet, inherits your page's font and text color, and scrolls sideways on narrow screens. It shows every county, alphabetically, with status, sheriff fee, how to apply (linked to the county's own portal or form where one is published), residency rule, and the date each row was last checked.

Options

Two optional attributes on the <div>. Use county names or URL slugs, comma-separated.

  • data-counties="..." shows only those counties. Good for a shop or range that serves a few counties.
  • data-highlight="..." highlights those rows in the full or filtered table.

Example for a range in Morgan County that draws from its neighbors:

<div data-cfw-counties data-counties="morgan, weld, washington, logan" data-highlight="morgan"></div>
<script src="https://coloradofirearmswatch.org/embed/counties.js" async></script>

How it stays current

The script is rebuilt every time this site publishes, and the county data behind it is re-swept weekly plus whenever a correction lands. Your page picks up the new script on the next load; there is nothing to update on your end. The footer line under the table prints the date the data is as of (currently 2026-10-08).

Terms

  • Keep the credit line and the "Report a correction" link visible under the table. They are part of the rendered output; please do not hide them with CSS.
  • The table is a sourced reference, not legal advice, and the footer says so. Do not present it as your county's or the state's official guidance.
  • The sheriff-fee column is the sheriff's fee only. Colorado's separate $52 CPW processing fee applies in every county and is stated in the footer.
  • If a row is wrong for a county you know first-hand, use the correction link. A confirmed report fixes every embed at once.
